Rotary Speech Contest--The Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club will be holding its annual speech contest on February 1st from 7-8am in the EHS Theater. This year's topic is "How Does Rotary Create Hope in the World." Monetary prizes will be given for 1st through 3rd places. Get information on the contest from Karen Nunes in the ASB Office. Deadline to sign up is TODAY, January 26.

“For a better world, what would YOU do?”...is the topic.  The Escalon Lions Club Speech Contest has room for 1 or 2 more students.  The contest date is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, February 1.  Doors open at 6pm and the contest will start a little after 6:30pm. Participants can bring up to 2 guests.  All participants will get a prize check ($100 for 1st place and $25 for all other participants).  The first place winner will advance to additional contests for an opportunity to win more prize money. Dinner is provided after the contest by the Escalon Lions. See Karen Nunes in the ASB office to sign up or get more information.

Attention FFA Members:. There is a mandatory swine exhibitor meeting today at lunch in Rm 38.

First Responder Program: Are you ready to answer the call of duty and become a future leader? We're thrilled to announce that the First Responder Leadership Team is now recruiting passionate and dedicated students who are eager to embark on a journey of courage, service, and community.  Recruits should be currently OR previously enrolled in a First Responder Course (EMT or Fire Science)  If you are interested, please come by Rescue 42 or Station 41.

Juniors: This is an amazing scholarship opportunity for you!,,, A few years ago, one of our students was awarded $10,000 for this scholarship.  It’s the Horatio Alger Scholarship and is for juniors only.  If you would like more information, please see Mrs. Nunes in the ASB Office.

Juniors, Please remember to bring your course 24-25 Course Ballots complete with parent signature on Tuesday, January 30. Counselors will be meeting with you to review them during your US History classes. 

 

 

 

 

 

Disney Grad Nite Registration is OPEN until February 16th: The Disney Grad Nite trip is May 19-20th.  There are currently 80 spots still available.  Registration has been extended, but final payment for the trip is due February 16th!! Seniors who have applied to MJC- It’s time to take care of your next steps. Sign up for the MJC Experience to complete your orientation, ed plan and get a campus tour on March 1. Space on the bus is limited, so complete the Google form to reserve your spot today!

 

Seniors…The American Ag Credit Scholarship and several San Joaquin County Farm Bureau Scholarships are now open!  They are available to ag majors.

The NHora scholarship has extended their due date to January 31, 2024 for Hispanic/Latino students with a 3.0 or higher GPA.  Applications are sent directly to NHora via email.

Seniors interested in applying for San Joaquin Delta College- We will be hosting a Delta application workshop on Feb 29, 2024 in the library. Use the Google form to sign up.

Baseball players will have a fieldwork day this Saturday starting at 9:00 am. The first day of practice will be Monday at 3:30. 

 

Softball tryouts will start Monday, 1/29  at 3:30 on the Varsity field for all girls not playing a winter sport. 

 

For those interested in Tennis, there is an informational meeting on Friday 1/26,  right after school, at the tennis courts. 3:10.
