Winter formal is January 20, 2024, 8-11 pm.  Tickets are limited. We will sell out. EHS Student contract forms are available in the hallway near the school office.. Ticket prices are $65 each. DUE DATES: Guest forms were due January 10 by 3:30 and are no longer available. Last day to buy all tickets is January 17 at 3:10 pm.

Winter Homecoming is next week! This year's theme is ‘High School Musical’! There is no school on Monday.  The Spirit Days are: Tuesday-Favorite Band or Artist T-shirt, Wednesday-Dress like an EHS Teacher, Thursday-”Pick Your Clique”, and Friday-Rep your Sport, Jersey Day.  We will crown our Homecoming King at the Varsity Basketball Game next Friday night.  Be there!

FFA Members: The first FFA meeting of the year is on January 17th at 3:30pm in the cafeteria.

If you are interested in showing a small animal, there will be a mandatory parent and exhibitor meeting Thursday January 18th at 6PM in Room 25.

 

ASL Club will have it’s first meeting of the new year next week Tuesday at lunch in Room 3. Hope to see you there to learn some new sign language!

 

“For a better world, what would YOU do?”...is the topic.  The Escalon Lions Club Speech Contest is full, but  open to 1 alternate students.  The contest date is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Thursday, February 1 or February 15.  Participants can bring up to 2 guests.  All participants will get a prize check ($100 for 1st place and $25 for all other participants) Dinner is typically provided after the contest by the Escalon Lions.  If interested

Rotary Speech Contest--The Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club will be holding its annual speech contest on February 1st. This year's topic is "How Does Rotary Create Hope in the World." Monetary prizes will be given for 1st through 3rd places. Get information on the contest from Karen Nunes in the ASB Office. 17 & 18 Year olds: Are you looking for a job to work after school and during breaks? The Boys & Girls club after school program will be starting up in January at Van Allen and Dent Elementary and they are in need of Youth Development Professionals. Juniors: This is an amazing scholarship opportunity for you!,,,A few years ago, one of our students was awarded $10,000 for this scholarship.  It’s the Horatio Alger Scholarship and is for juniors only.  If you would like more information, please see Mrs. Nunes in the ASB Office.

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is offering a Discover Group Trip for seniors who are eligible and interested in viewing their campus in Arizona. Application process and trip is free with no commitment to GCU required. You must have at least a 2.5 weighted GPA or higher to attend. See the counseling office to sign up.
